Rideshare is extremely important here in California. We spend an estimated 115 hours a year driving to work, which is not good for the environment or commuters. With this in mind, our employees pledged to use a sustainable form of transportation at least one day during Rideshare Month in order to reduce road congestion, improve air quality, and conserve energy resources and commute costs.
The annual event has proved successful in encouraging “greener” commuting. Approximately 60 percent of commuters who try alternate forms of commuting during Rideshare Week continue to rideshare more often than they did before, according to the Los Angeles Metro.
